Good Morning Christchurch! We recharged, repacked and are ready for Tahiti! We fly out at 2 from Christchurch to Auckland and then to Papeete, Tahiti…we have no idea what day we get there, due to crossing International datelines. Right now it’s Monday at 11:30 AM. We are being picked up at 12 Noon for a 2:00 flight. 






We walked around a different part of Christchurch this morning and saw a different park, shopping area, and garden. Then back to pack up and get ready to leave for the airport. One thing we never did was high tea. As we walked back to the hotel, there is a sign at the entrance to our hotel that says join us for high tea. Oh well, maybe next time! 










Off to Christchurch airport. It was a very smooth check-in considering we forgot to precheck last night! It was so nice to know our bags are checked through to Tahiti. 



We arrived in Auckland. The walk to the International Terminal was about 15 minutes. It is a beautiful warm day in Auckland. We went through customs again, I was stopped for scissors in my knitting bag. They weren’t sharp or large. They passed! We had a 4 hour wait. 















Very smooth flight. We watched movies, ate dinner, and slept a bit. Next stop Tahiti. The welcome in Tahiti was the best of any I’ve ever had. It’s 1:30 in the morning, there was a 3 piece band singing and dancing to a welcome song. 







The line for customs was long and slow for US citizens…hmm. 
Our bags were all in and secured, a man was standing at the door with POPE CASTLE on his iPad. We were whisked away and in 5 minutes we were checking into the Intercontinental Tahiti. 
This morning we woke up in Paradise and guess what??? It’s Monday again!! Did someone say
 GROUNDHOG DAY?

I guess I’m off for the next several days!

  Day 1–2: From NewYork/Connecticut to Edinburgh June 10–11, 2026 Our long-awaited Scotland adventure began on June 10 as Steve and I met up with Jeff and Susie and headed to JFK Airport for our overnight flight to Edinburgh.  June 12, 2026 – Stirling Castle and a Scottish Welcome Good morning, Edinburgh! Steve and Jeff went out exploring early this morning while Susie and I stayed back to get ready for the day. During their walk, they visited St. Mary’s Cathedral. Construction took five years and was completed in 1885 at a cost of £110,000, which would be roughly equivalent to several million dollars today. One interesting fact we learned is that no building in Edinburgh is permitted to be taller than the Castle, helping preserve the city’s historic skyline. At 12:45, we met the other 20 travelers on our Tauck tour in the hotel lobby. The group seems wonderful, with most people around our age, along with a few who are younger and a few who are older.   Saturday, June 13, 2026 – Edinburgh, Scotland We had a leisurely breakfast at 7:00 a.m. because it was wheels up at 8:00 for a full day of sightseeing of Edinburgh. Our first stop was a private tour of Palace of Holyroodhouse. The palace is magnificent and steeped in centuries of history. It serves as the official Scottish residence of King Charles III. Since the King is not currently in residence, we were fortunate to be allowed to tour his home. He is expected to arrive later this month for Royal Week. No photographs were permitted inside the palace. Tauk gave us a souvenir tour book so I have included some pictures.  The dining room was set for fourteen guests with beautiful green china designed to complement the wall color. We walked through the actual sitting room where members of the Royal Family receive guests before dinner.
