Today we had a later start and were going back to Gigondas. We had 2 wine tastings. The first one was Pierre Amandieu. The family run winery started with 7 acres in and presently they have 337. They have 10% of the wine production from Gigondas. The wines from here have the same qualities as Châteauneuf-du-Pape but is less known and cheaper. They even sell to Total Wine in the US. The wine was very good. 










Next we had lunch in town. France closes down between 12-2. All stores and businesses close except restaurants. We walked around town. The winding streets were very steep.



We were amazed that each drink had its matching glass!







Next wine tasting was Domaine du Terme. It’s another family run vineyard. It’s smaller than Pierre Amadieu. The wine was very good.








Back to Avignon for regrouping. 
Next, we went to the Pont Saint Benezet. (Pont d’ Avignon of nursery rhyme fame) The views were beautiful!
















We went back to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner tonight. L’Arlequin. The waiter/owner reminds us of Bradley Cooper. When we made the reservation, he told us he was changing the menu. I said oh no rack of lamb? He said since it’s the 1 st day of the new menu maybe they would have one left. When we got there, he said to me I saved you 1 rack of lamb. Same thing with the frogs legs. They both are not on the spring menu! Everything was delicious. We told Bradley (Tebow ) his was one of 2 repeat restaurants. He said you have touched my heart. He sent over Lemoncello shots for us. He had the same glass jar that I use to make Lemoncello. He said he has to get 90 proof alcohol from Spain!
Off to bed early wheels up to Cassis tomorrow!

 June 12, 2026 – Stirling Castle and a Scottish Welcome Good morning, Edinburgh! Steve and Jeff went out exploring early this morning while Susie and I stayed back to get ready for the day. During their walk, they visited St. Mary’s Cathedral. Construction took five years and was completed in 1885 at a cost of £110,000, which would be roughly equivalent to several million dollars today. One interesting fact we learned is that no building in Edinburgh is permitted to be taller than the Castle, helping preserve the city’s historic skyline. At 12:45, we met the other 20 travelers on our Tauck tour in the hotel lobby. The group seems wonderful, with most people around our age, along with a few who are younger and a few who are older.   Saturday, June 13, 2026 – Edinburgh, Scotland We had a leisurely breakfast at 7:00 a.m. because it was wheels up at 8:00 for a full day of sightseeing of Edinburgh. Our first stop was a private tour of Palace of Holyroodhouse. The palace is magnificent and steeped in centuries of history. It serves as the official Scottish residence of King Charles III. Since the King is not currently in residence, we were fortunate to be allowed to tour his home. He is expected to arrive later this month for Royal Week. No photographs were permitted inside the palace. Tauk gave us a souvenir tour book so I have included some pictures.  The dining room was set for fourteen guests with beautiful green china designed to complement the wall color. We walked through the actual sitting room where members of the Royal Family receive guests before dinner.
